The vibrant urban pulse of Johor Bahru also continues in bustling side streets off the main drag, where you can find delicious street food specialities and some beautiful examples of old-style Malaysian architecture. The Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple is worth highlighting; it's a particularly splendid Hindu temple covered in glittering glass mosaics. Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque is a gorgeous Victorian-style mosque perched on the water right near the Zaharah Botanic Gardens, a magnificent sight to behold in the evenings.
